You don’t need a new personality or the latest trends on social media to get your life together. You need fewer expectations and more grace for yourself.
What is an unsorted mind? It’s not laziness and it’s not lack of effort. It’s too many thoughts, not too few. It’s your mind constantly working, constantly thinking of everything and wearing itself, and you out. It’s exhausting thinking all the time, about every little thing. As someone who struggles every day to turn my brain off and to just relax, trust me, I know. But I’m here to help you learn how to feel like a more put together person, even when we don’t feel like it.
I know a lot of influencers promise you that a new planner, whether it be a paper planner or an app, is going to fix your problems. I’m here to tell you that they won’t. I’ve bought the planners, all the pretty colored pens and highlighters, and the expensive subscriptions to the apps, and I gave up on using them all within a few weeks (if I even make it that far). It wasn’t because I’m lazy, it’s because that was another thing for me to have to think about. And that isn’t what I needed.
Now I could tell you that I’m a perfectly put together, happy, productive individual who knows exactly how to keep my life in order and stay on top of everything at work, and at home, and in my personal life. And I could probably get you to believe that as well. But I’m not here to lie to you and to make you feel bad about who you are. Because we’re all different. This really isn’t meant for Type A, perfectly put together people. This is meant for those of us who are Type B, or even C. Those of us who have no idea where their keys are in the morning because we don’t put them in the same spot every night. It’s for those of us who didn’t think about what we’re making for dinner tonight, so we didn’t get any meat out of the freezer and now we’re standing hungry in the kitchen. It’s for those of us who can’t afford to have a monthly gym membership, but we still want to look good in our bikinis. And it’s for those of us who can’t be bothered to spend all of our hard-earned money on the newest beauty care products that we see on TikTok.
This blog isn’t meant to make anyone feel bad about themselves or their situation. Because who am I to judge? This is meant to share ideas that helped me get through some very difficult times and that help me when I can’t think straight. This is where we slowly start to get our lives straightened out, together.
